Raised in Southern California, Phil Hulett has been an announcer literally since his voice changed. In High School, Phil launched a closed circuit “radio station.” During his four years at Cal State Long Beach, he was on the air at the college radio station and served as program director.
Straight out of college, Phil took a job in the promotions department at KLOS FM, then became a talk-show producer at KABC AM. It was about that time he began to do commercial voiceovers. Shortly after his start in commercial radio, Phil hosted his own talk show on an Orange County AM radio station and emceed a sports special on ESPN. From there he became a disc jockey and image voice for KNAC FM. Phil has also worked at KHTZ FM (now KLSX) and KBIG FM as a morning news anchor.
During the dot-com boom of the late 90’s, Phil co-founded the Internet version of a former place of employment, KNAC.COM. He enjoyed 11 seasons as the Public Address Announcer for the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks and has lived out one of his dreams to announce during the Stanley Cup Final.
Phil is married, has three daughters and has been heard on KFWB since 1998.
