Michael Smerconish joins KFWB NEWS TALK 980 as host of the station’s evening slot just months after being named by his peers across America as Radio & Records “2009 News/Talk/Sports Local Personality of the Year.”
Michael’s ever-growing program is now carried by more than 40 affiliates. Los Angeles listeners will soon see why his show is a lightning rod of spirited discussion. A Philadelphia lawyer turned political commentator, Smerconish is a fill-in host for Bill O'Reilly on the Radio Factor, and a guest host for Joe Scarborough on MSNBC's Scarborough Country. He has often appeared on the Today Show, It's Your World with Neil Cavuto and Hardball with Chris Matthews.

Michael also is a columnist for the both the Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia Inquirer. He keeps a hand in law and remains ‘of counsel’ to the Beasley Law Firm in Philadelphia.

In 2009 Michael released his fourth book " Morning Drive: Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Talking." This book is both a political manifesto in which he offers viewpoints on every issue from same sex relationships to the hunt for Osama bin Laden, as well as a behind the scenes look at the world of talk radio and television punditry.
