LOS ANGELES - Federal authorities say they have broken up one of the largest counterfeit currency rings ever uncovered in Southern California.
Federal prosecutors said Tuesday they arrested five people, including a printer who claims he made between $5 million and $6 million in counterfeit bills over the past two years.
Investigators say they found a manufacturing plant last week where bogus $100 bills and $20 bills were made using inkjet technology and computers.
Authorities say most of the counterfeit bills have either been circulated across the United States or seized.
